দীর্ঘদিন পর ২৪ এপ্রিল ২০১৯ তারিখ মাননীয় প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার জনাব কে এম নুরুল হুদা কর্তৃক উদ্বোধন হলো স্মার্ট কার্ড বিতরণ। এর মাধ্যমে শুরু হলো ফরিদপুর সদর উপজেলার জনগন হাতে পাচ্ছে স্মার্ট জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্র বা এনআইডি কার্ড।
এর আগে ভাংগা উপজেলাবাসী পেয়ে গেছে স্মার্ট এনআইডি কার্ড।
